Story
They worship and farm a single species of starfish and live on the algae that grows around it. Every hundred years, when the stars align, some of them shed their shells and swell into vast maddened things, with near-impenetrable carapaces, tentacles, and extra eyes and mouths. These come ashore and destroy everything in their path.
