Pirates, prisoners and dock-scum, necks burned black with hot tar, who defend Glaive Port by the dirtiest means there are.
Founded: c. year 500 (late in the Second Age), by Astralis, in Glaive Port
Story
In Glaive Port, in a time of fear, the ruler gathered pirates, prisoners and the worst scum of the docks into the Branded — their necks burned black with hot tar. They defend the city’s river and sea by the dirtiest means there are: fire-ships full of people rammed into the enemy, plague corpses over the walls.
Through the Third Age their city was taken by the orcs (Fall of Glaive Port), corrupted, besieged by Elyndra, driven to cannibalism and famine, and finally ruled by the Mycomancers.
Now
The Branded still hold Glaive Port’s waters, loyal, through the endless Siege of Glaive Port.
