East of the Grove, along the road into the desert — a devastated land of scattered soldiers turned bandit — and dead who will not stay down.
Made: c. year 620 (Third Age) — the Great Battle of the Third Age (Svarog’s armies against Sylvanus’s Grove).
Story
Famine came to Glaive Port as the Fungal Plague took livestock, fish and crops, and its four armies marched south for bread, against the Grove. The Water Druids confused them, their generals vanished — eaten by fungus or by trees — and with the Spider People the Grove drove them out; the forest swallowed them. Fewer than half died. The rest scattered as bandits and marauders across a devastated wasteland. It is called the graveyard of the fallen armies.
Some ten years later, around year 630, the dead of the battlefield rose: the plague made them Fungal Zombies, mindless and leaderless, in every stage of decay (Astralis).
Now
Glaive Port’s scattered armies turned bandit, and fungal zombies rising from the battlefield.
