A hidden elven city around the Tree of Life, known to no race, where the forest shifts and scouts walk in circles.
Founded: c. year 610 (Third Age), by Sylvanus
Story
Sylvanus’s elves found the Tree of Life and hid a city around it in the forest of peace, known to no race: the Grove. Around year 620, it turned to magical defence — no walls, but a forest that shifts and scouts who walk in circles; it spreads as small strange places rather than growing. It raised an army of water druids.
Then Glaive Port’s four starving armies marched south for bread against it — the Great Battle of the Third Age. The druids confused them, their generals vanished — eaten by fungus or by trees — and with the Spider People they drove them out; the forest swallowed them. The Grove survived, wounded. East of it, along the road into the desert, lies the Wasteland.
Around year 630 Sylvanus sent the lizardmen through the Underdark against the Tree; the Grove’s misdirection held, its assassins killed their chiefs, and the lizardmen turned on each other.
Now
Hidden; magical misdirection; water druids. That it exists at all is a secret.
