Out of the burned mushroom forest spread a plague: sterility, and death if untreated.
c. year 620 (Third Age), by Svarog
Story
It spread from the burned part of Fungorn. The acute phase brings sterility, and untreated it brings death. It passes by blood and saliva. It was worst in Glaive Port, then the Bazaar, then the island. The mushroom-folk (Deepkin), who breed by spores, are immune. Scholars think it is the fungi’s own defence.
Consequences
- Famine came to Glaive Port as the fungus took livestock, fish and crops. It raised a fourth army and marched south (Great Battle of the Third Age).
- The dead of that battlefield rose as Fungal Zombies (c. year 630).
- Malakai, a leper who healed himself, founded the Mycomancers, who command the fungal dead.
Now
It is active. The plague has already been through the Bazaar.
