Story
Already in Age I the Breach Falls sank through the fissured floor of World’s Breach into the Underdark. Around year 200 Sylvanus opened it.
Around year 630 Sylvanus sent the Lizardmen through the Underdark against the Tree of Life. The Grove’s misdirection held, its assassins killed their chiefs, and the lizardmen turned on each other; the Hollow Knight built them a second war camp, and they split into two warring factions around the Underdark mouth on Jungle Island.
Around year 640 Elyndra gathered an army to capture it, and with the Water Elves took Jungle Island’s Underdark mouth. The lizardmen were broken but not destroyed.
On the map
Two mouths are marked: on the mainland at the Gorge of the Titans’ sea mouth, and on Jungle Island’s north-east shore. Underground passages run between them beneath the Sea of Ice’s floes — the lizardmen’s road to the Tree of Life.
Now
The elves hold Jungle Island’s mouth. At the mainland mouth camp L1 and L2 — the remnants of the two lizardman armies that came through, turned on each other — beside the Tree of Life they failed to take. The war camps on Jungle Island still stand.
