Story
Ardor erupted, and the chaos-energy of the cosmos quickened the glowing stones that fell. They too claim the name Children of Stone, and who came first is disputed with the Dwarves. Obsessed with bloodline, they keep Ardora’s First, the descendants of the very first, as their nobility. Astralis gave them the earth-organ: vents roaring where the volcano punctures the earth. “The first sound your race ever heard was the earth playing its organ.”
Ardora founded Cinderforge for them (c. year 100). Living among geysers and steam vents, they discovered engineering and invented steam power. The Cinderwing Cartel built steam airships and a trade network, until the Skybreak grounded them. A mutiny on an airship split off the Frost Genasi (c. year 200). Around year 600 they raised an army on their island as the elven ships sailed past. Astralis gave them the Ember Dancers (c. year 620). Their crystal cracked in the Shattering, and they ringed it with the Pillars of Magic Harnessing (c. year 640).
Now
They use steam engineering and are harnessing their cracked crystal. The grounded Cartel chases Portals and meteor shards.
