The Fire Genasi city on the northern volcano island — steam, airships, and a cracking crystal caged in coils.
Founded: c. year 100 (Second Age), by Svarog’s avatar (Ardora) · Pillars of Magic Harnessing: c. year 640 (Third Age)
Story
On the northern island stands Ardor, the volcano whose eruption made the Fire Genasi. Around year 100, Svarog’s avatar founded Cinderforge there. Living among geysers and steam vents, the Genasi discovered engineering and invented steam power, and Svarog founded in Cinderforge the Cinderwing Cartel — Genasi who build steam-driven airships and set out to explore the world, then built a vast trade network across the continent.
The Skybreak grounded the Cartel. Around year 500, late in the Age, Svarog sent it a prophecy that one of the two lost crystals governs portals, and made it their master: portal magic grows far stronger near shards of the first meteor.
Around year 600, the Genasi raised an army on their island as the elven warships of the Last Tide sailed past. After the Shattering cracked every great crystal, Ardora had Cinderforge’s scholars ring their cracking crystal with the Pillars of Magic Harnessing — tall coils that catch the leaking magic and feed it to the city (c. year 640, Svarog).
