Nomads of the Eternal Steppe, which is perfect for riding. They beat the roads that will outlast a thousand years.
Created: year zero (Second Age), by Atlas · Orders: Purebred · Time Keepers
Story
They were made neutral nomads, with a small evil order of priests, the Purebred, who hold that the union of beast and man makes them superior to every other race. Astralis made the women-led Time Keepers among them. The Time Keepers drew the first maps of the world and made the first calendars. Astralis also had them beat the Centaur Roads across the world (c. year 200). Around year 300 Sylvanus purified them, and they are now good. Around year 500 they joined the Humans in the Eternal Alliance, which produced the Shapeshifting Centaurs.
Around year 600 the Order of the Eternal Peace called humans and centaurs to arms in Greenhaven. Karros and Kassander, a dwarf riding a centaur, led them into the War Zone against the Water Elves.
Now
They keep the roads and the alliance with humans, and fight in the War Zone.
