The central city on the River of Life, home of history, writing and the Library — and now held by dwarven wardens.
Founded: c. year 300 (Second Age), by Sylvanus · The Library: c. year 400 (Second Age), by Atlas
Story
Sylvanus founded Greenhaven on the River of Life, which flows through the city, mostly human. Around year 400, Astralis advanced it — the central city — with history and writing, and Atlas built a Library there. Around year 500, the Eternal Alliance between humans and centaurs was signed in the central city.
Around year 600, the Order of the Eternal Peace, through the Stone Talus, called humans and centaurs to arms in Greenhaven. Around year 630 Karros and Kassander led the armies of Heart of the Plains and Greenhaven (the “Liberatorians”) against the water elves on their land; it ended even and became the War Zone.
Around year 640 the dwarves, seeing humans become the dominant race, marched with the Stone Talus and took Greenhaven as its wardens — no massacre, nothing else changed (Atlas). Karros and Kassander came home from the front, found the dwarves ruling, and turned them to the honourable way (Astralis). But Atlas raised among those same dwarves a ruling caste, the Magisters, who hold that dwarves are not only the first race but the best, and will do anything to stay in power.
Now
Dwarf-ruled; purified to the honourable way by Karros and Kassander, yet governed by the Magisters. Which wins remains to be seen.
