The secluded elves’ city and shipyard of the warships of doom — on the island where the great crystal shattered.
Founded: c. year zero (Second Age), by Sylvanus · Where: Nyravel, the forested island far in the north-west, in the Sylmara Archipelago
Story
A party of Explorers who reached a far place turned inward and became the Last Tide — secluded, xenophobic, evil. In the first years after year zero, Sylvanus founded a first city for them: Nerathis. Around year 300 Svarog corrupted it, and Sylvanus advanced it into a shipyard — warships of doom, for the secluded elves mean to rule the seas.
Around year 600, the Last Tide raided every settlement along the rich northern shores and took a foothold, and Sylvanus bound them to Glaive Port in the Evil Alliance. Around year 610 generations of inbreeding cost the elves a whole generation’s shipbuilding (Astralis): their raiders are small fast boats of twenty, and for a while there will be no new ones.
Around year 630 Atlas’s Shattering broke the great crystal on Nyravel, the Last Tide’s island — chosen, it is said, by chance. Around year 640 the elves, grown arrogant and decadent, were corrupted wholesale (Svarog).
Now
Wild magic and monstrosities, densest here; a decadent, corrupted elf navy that can’t build new ships for a generation.
